*This build was adapted from the original chinese versions

*Credits go to my good friend RikaChan who has always been good to me =]

*Note that this build leans a bit more to the PvP side. You can go here for a PvE http://jd-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=25791

First, a small description for Modo.

Modo is a demonic type class meant to be destructive by the time you hit lvl 95 (which is your nice stun skill). And by the time you hit lvl 150, Modo IS (I have tested this in both the Chinese and Malaysion versions of this game) guaranteed the dominating class by 150. It just takes time and patience to properly learn the ways of the Modo.

First of all, you must learn that there are different forms for Modo, each form with their advantages and disadvantages. The very first transformation you get is one of the most useful transformations you will get, it is a demonic type transformation that is a more defensive transformation (which believe me, it will be your best offense at higher levels). If you get your build right (if you follow this guide accordingly) then eventually you will get a nice boost of 2k+ from this transformation.

There is also the "Parasitic" transformation (which is your 2nd transformation) is more of an offensive transformation. The downside to this one is that it actually decreases your defence by a lot. It is more MP based, it buffs your MP and magic atk skills, but decreased alot of your defence. And since initially Modo have low defence, lowering it even more might not always be the best idea. However, if you follow this build accordingly then you can easily cope with this transformation.

This point here is very important, whether people know it or not, Modo is actually even better at tanking than the actual tanking warrior class in this game. If your gear is good enough, and you do your stats properly, you can have a very nice defence.

**NOTE For beginners if you can not figure out where to find the Mr. Gho for the initial Novice> 1st Tier job advancement, you must first travel to Jadeon (from the 1st town sun or whatever) then after Jadeon you must head to the town of Skysong, then after Skysong you must head to Doom Bog. He is located a little bit north west from the village in Doom Bog. The technique to actually getting to him without dying, is you must walk up behind him when there are no monsters around. Talk to him quickly, advance your job and get out of there asap ;) Make sure you have 2 inventory spaces available or else you can not finish the job advancement.

Ok and that is the basic introduction of Modo.

I disagree. Modo is a class that can dominate and one better reckons them. But Jadeon can dominate too and definitely against a group with their aoe. Balo are heavy hitters with good def and res too. So I think it depends mostly on the build and how well you know the skills. But Modo is definitely not an easy prey to kill..

The "best" classes in my opinion are :

  • Modo
  • Rayan

Assuming you have the best possible build and the best possible knowledge about using your char.
After this I'd probabily put balo and jadeon, and after that I'd go for the former best class vim and arden.

However a modo is a double edged sword. Either you can conquer everybody or you will lose from everybody. Rayan is a bit simpler they just have to go invis and you will lose. The only person that can tank a rayan while being invis is a balo. However balo does not have the dammage output since balo is a pure tank.

Every class has his easy targets, and his harder targets. The hardest for a modo is rayan. Not much expirience with all the other classes besides the obvious builds and posts ive read on the forums from people that do know that :p

What do you mean a balo hasn't got the damage output? They are heavy hitters. True they only get real strong after ascension. But depending on the build you go tank or dmg.
